Jewelry Care Tips

We want your jewelry to remain just as perfect as the first time you put it on. Here are a few tips for keeping it in tip-top condition…

Wear it!

The natural oils in your skin help to keep your stones and metals clean and conditioned.

Watch the soap

We recommend removing your jewelry before washing & bathing to prevent soap build-up.

Storage

Store each piece in a jewelry pouch or travel case, in a room-temperature, low-moisture environment. Some colored gemstones may be sensitive to light, cosmetics, liquid immersion, and extreme temperatures. We recommend storing delicate chains and bands during activities when they might get snagged or bent.

Gold, Platinum & Diamonds

You can make your own cleaning solution using six parts warm water and one part dish soap. Dip your jewelry into the solution and scrub gently using a soft toothbrush. Rinse in warm water and pat dry. We recommend having your jewelry professionally cleaned periodically, either by the artist who made it or by us.

Pearls & Opals

These are especially sensitive to the agents mentioned above. Avoid wearing them while swimming or bathing. Even cosmetics can be harmful to their luster, so we recommend removing them while applying perfume, hairspray, lotion, and makeup.

Silver & Brass

Silver and brass can be cleaned with the same solution as gold. They may require additional cleaning with the use of a tarnish removing polish like Tarn-X or Brasso.

Plated & Vermeil Jewelry

Gold & silver plated and vermeil jewelry should not be exposed to water, cleaning solvents, or other chemicals as they will affect the color and finish of the product. Remove and safely store your plated and vermeil jewelry before swimming or bathing to maintain its finish. Even sweat can affect the finish of plated jewelry, so we recommend removing it prior to strenuous exercise.
