Void Watches

David Ericsson is a Swedish designer currently based in Hong Kong. After graduating with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, he started to work for one of Sweden’s largest industrial design firms, where he gradually shifted his attention towards product design. With a technical background, David’s design approach is to keep things simple, but with a unique twist.

David officially launched VOID Watches in 2008. What started as a side project to his career in design and engineering turned into a full time job and eventually a small company. His watches not only tell time, they also tell the story of turning ideas into reality. David designs VOID Watches’ products with the intention to inspire people, not only by how they look but also by what they represent; the drive to always create and continuously improve.

Simplicity is at the core of David’s design philosophy, a philosophy strongly rooted in his Swedish heritage. He prefers simple shapes and uses materials that are best suited for the purpose of the designs. Every detail on every product is thought through and quality is never compromised.
