New to NEWTWIST: Introducing Abacus Row
We are thrilled to welcome new artist Abacus Row, founded by Christine Trac, to our store!
Hand-beaded in San Francisco using matte glass Miyuki beads, each piece features a vibrant splash of summer color inspired by the contemporary paintings of Lebanese-American artist and poet, Etel Adnan. Within the Etel Collection are three color palettes, each influenced by a specific painting: Shore, Pasture, and Horizon.
Palette No. 1, Shore, as described by Christine: “Shore, which is composed of muted colors – pink, blue and grey, and accented with a bright, almost-neon yellow, and black, is the more calming of the palettes. The combination overall is soothing, one that makes me nostalgic for the soothing overcast Puget Sound landscape of my hometown.”
Palette No. 2, Pasture: “Pasture is composed of verdant greens and yellows, balanced with soft pink and blue hues, and accented with a striking primary red. Pasture is the most playful and varied of our palettes. It has the electric feel of youth and summertime.”
Palette No. 3, Horizon: “Horizon is a warm mix of purples, balanced with terra cotta and muted pink, and highlighted with primary red and yellow marks. This is a palette made of 8 different colors, blocked and paired to illustrate our favorite summer days – full and warm.”
The Etel Collection features colorful hoops in all sizes for an easy-breezy look.
Wrap bracelets, layered sets of 3, and long, vibrant strands round out this playful and versatile collection.
